Your weddings are my day to day.
But this is about when it was Our Turn.
Family History
I teamed up with several family members to collect wedding photos and stats on both sides as far back as we could trace. We framed very simply in assorted antique and Amazon Frames with spelled out detail on the who / when / where. We were able to trace some lines back to the 1800s!
We displayed in this gorgeous gold stand from Le Luci. I saw several of my older family members walking around with their photo at the reception - just proud and happy to show and tell. I loved this so much, and really connected with each couple I collected from. In truth, Luke and I would not be where we were without this exact lead-up of love, so it was amazing and special to recognize and celebrate.
Embroidered Shirts
This was probably silly, but I felt silly getting ready in pajamas when we were in a public venue — so instead of that typical, I made a denim button down with first names chain-stitched on for each gal in my gang. I collected the shirts from Mango, Gap, Amazon, ect. I outsourced embroidery to Vichcraft in Chicago - the best of the best!
This was so fun and we felt like a walking Gap ad.
Mom’s Dress, My Veil
As timeless as my mom’s 1990 original was… ;)
we both agreed her lace train would made a beautiful veil with my dress.
We used Vanya Designs to turn mom’s long cathedral lace train into a long veil for me.
Signature Drinks
Instead of a typical His and Hers, we made the his and hers meaningful, by attaching it to our favorite places and places of origin…
We served a Nancy renamed “The Manhappiness” as a nod to where we met / an Old Fashioned named “The Okie” as representation of where Luke was living / an elderflower martini named “The Chi Town” as representaion of where I was living / and a paloma renamed “Take Me to Texas” in honor of where we were moving!
Getting the band
back together…
A great way to inspire teams and nod to music… we gave each table a band name. But it was far from random; we used music that connected the dots of our story with each group of people. The Chicks for my college gal pals. Eagles for my high school mascot. Concerts we had seen together, songs we had loved alongside…
At each table, we framed the band logo on translusent vellum cut smaller than these acryllic box frames on Amazon.

Bridesmaid Dresses
Can we all agree that placing a number of different body types in the exact same dress on display in a line is just kind of not cool?
My gals wore assorted “Champagne” and “Show me the Ring” dresses from Show Me Your Mumu - all different styles! These two fabric swatches went super well together, especially with the beads / fabrics.
King’s Table
Haven’t we all been a plus one to someone in the wedding party and been sat in the most random of tables? This solved all those problems and more, by fitting 34 people down the main entry of our reception venue. This was epic and we loved all sitting together so much.
for all… a handwritten letter delivered on the morning of…
