Everything you need to know about working with wax…

I just love wax. But it ain’t nothin’ new.
This vintage touch makes your invite feel like it’s straight out of Bridgerton. AND it’s a really fairly easy and cheap addition to your set. With a few products, you’re in business; not just for your wedding, but for gifts, christmas cards, and entertaining for years to come. Here’s everything you need to know…

I fully recommend Artisare products.

You will need a sealing gun, a stamp, and some wax sticks.

Not your grandmother’s glue gun...
This one is the perfect low temp for wax so that you don’t overheat (think: bubbles). PLUS it is perfectly engineered to give you the right amount of wax with one squeeze.

Browse Artisaire for an assortment of colors!
To find out how many you need, use the handy calculator at the side of each product page. To change colors, use a cheap glue gun stick in between 2 different colors.

Artisaire has lots of stunning stamps to consider, or we could make a custom one together… see below. 1” circle is standard size. You may also like slightly over or undersized as well as square, oval and shaped options!

some tips and tricks

  • Set up your station with a small bowl of ice. You will need to ice your stamp in between EVERY use if you are working quickly. If you are just doing one - no need. But for repetitive use, your metal stamp will get overheated if not. Have a small absorbent towel nearby to collect water. You won’t want small leftover drops to leave imperfections in your seals.

  • Take a sharpie and make a small arrow about which way should face “up.” I’ve done several upside down until I started doing this.

  • To change colors, use a clear glue gun stick to recycle through. They will mix a little bit if not. You might like the look of that though! Can be really pretty.

  • If you are working on something you don’t want to stick to, like a belly band on top of an invite, use parchment paper! It will easily peel off this, and ensure your guests will be able to cleanly slide the whole situation off of the main invite.

This could be a monogram of sorts or something to go with your already crafted invitation. We would work together to design something.
